1. What We Collect

• Account info: Name, email, university/company, major/title, graduation year, gender (optional), bio
• Usage data: Events you attend, trips you create, messages you send within the platform
• Payment info: Processed by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID — no card numbers are stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Display your profile to other users browsing event attendees
• Facilitate travel group formation and on-platform messaging
• Process subscription payments
• Send transactional emails (email confirmation, connection requests)

3. What We Share

We do not sell your personal data, and we never share it for advertising purposes.

To operate RouteSync, we work with a small number of trusted service providers that help us host your data securely, process payments, and deliver transactional emails. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function, and they are contractually required to protect it.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Gender Data

Gender is optional and only used to display a label on your traveler profile (e.g., "Woman") to help other travelers make informed decisions about group travel. You can set this to "Prefer not to say" or leave it blank.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing support@routesync.app.

6. Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication only. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time from your Profile page. For full deletion requests, contact us.
